Who writes this, and why there are no affiliate links on it

This journal is written by one person and signed as the Lisbon desk, because a name on it would be a decoration rather than something you could check. What is checkable is the position it is written from: Italian passport, resident in Lisbon since 2017, running a single member Delaware LLC since 2019 doing brand and packaging work for clients who are mostly in the United States. Nobody edits this journal, nobody sponsors it, and no provider has ever paid me to appear anywhere in it.

I started writing it because the advice available to people in my position was either written by somebody selling a formation package or written by somebody American who had never once had an application rejected for reasons they were not allowed to hear. Both of those are useless in the specific moment when your file has been sitting for three weeks and nobody will tell you why.

What I do here is narrow on purpose. I write about the paperwork of running an American company from outside the country, I pull the underlying data myself from public federal sources, and I write down the exact query so that you can rerun it and correct me. If a number in a letter turns out to be wrong I fix it in the piece with a dated note underneath rather than quietly.

What I sell

An hour of my time, and nothing else. People book it when they have a specific rejection that they cannot decode, or when they want somebody to read their folder before they submit it. I do not file anything on your behalf, I am not a lawyer and I am not an accountant, and for anything that touches your tax position you should talk to somebody who is.
